It requires a phone. Current models that work with it are: Galaxy Note5, S6 edge+, S6, and S6 edge

Simply put, no. It only works with : Galaxy Note5, S6 edge+, S6, and S6 edge., Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge.



Does the consumer version have USB pass through so that you can charge your phone while you use it? 


Yes it has a pass through on the bottom but is only compatible with Samsung chargers. Don't try to use it during gaming or 360 video or you'll end up all wrapped up. 



what is the differenve between the samsung gear VR and the VR developer's edition?

Consumer Version vs Not. They have different support for phones. If you're looking to play games/etc, recommend the Samsung Gear VR.


I wear glasses. Is that a problem?

I wear glasses and have no problem putting this on over them. Also you can adjust the lenses so I'm finding with my Myopia, I don't even need my glasses on. 



Are there built in speakers?

The Gear VR uses your phone's speaker. I recommend using a Bluetooth headset for a more immersive experience.



Will youtube work on this?
